Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Union (11-10) edged 11th ranked Argentino (8-9) in Santa Fe 67-65 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Union outrebounded Argentino 61-43 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Ulises Gonzalez (-5) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Lucas Peralta (-5) supported him with 15 points. Union's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by forward Santiago Bilbao (196-5) did not help to save the game for Argentino. Guard Augusto Gennero (188-3) added 14 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Union maintains seventh position with 11-10 record. Argentino lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Quimsa. Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play against Quimsa (#12) in Santiago del Estero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
