Regular Season Round 17: Goes - Olimpia 91-65

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Goes (#1) and Olimpia (#6). Goes (13-1) crushed visiting Olimpia (7-6) by 26 points 91-65. Goes forced 19 Olimpia turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Olimpia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-92) nailed 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Joaquin Osimani (193-87) accounted for 22 points. Agustin Cabillon (198-95) came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Juan Viana (180-96) added 10 points respectively for Olimpia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goes have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-1 record. Olimpia at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Hebraica.
