Rather expected game when 14th ranked Argentino (6-12) lost to eleventh ranked Olimpico (10-9) in La Banda 74-89 on Sunday. Olimpico outrebounded Argentino 36-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Olimpico especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Argentino's players. Naturalized Italian center Damian Tintorelli (205-81) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and forward Santiago Arese (196-87) accounted for 10 points and 5 assists. Five Olimpico players scored in double figures. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) came up with 19 points and the other American import center Chris Daniels (208-84, college: TAMUCC, agency: Shark Sports Management) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Argentino in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Olimpico. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Instituto. Loser Argentino dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with La Union. Olimpico will meet Obera (#12) on the road in the next round. Argentino will play against San Lorenzo and hope to secure a win.
