La Liga top team - Quimsa (15-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Argentino (6-12) in Santiado del Estero 88-76. Quimsa made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Quimsa outrebounded Argentino 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Argentino was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and his fellow American import Terrence Roderick (198-88, college: UAB) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) with 19 points and 4 steals and naturalized American Johnatan Slider (192-87) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-3 record. Argentino at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with La Union. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play at home against San Lorenzo (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
