There was a minor upset in Sao Paulo where 13th ranked Mogi (6-11) was rolled over by fifteenth ranked Corinthians (6-12) 98-75. Corinthians forced 20 Mogi turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Forward Lucas Siewert (208-97, college: Colorado) nailed 23 points and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Alexandre Paranhos (204-92) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Corinthians players scored in double figures. Wesley Alves (198-96) came up with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (186-81) added 14 points and 9 assists respectively for Mogi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Corinthians have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Mogi at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Corinthians will play against higher ranked Pato (#9) in Pato Branco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mogi will play on the road against Paulistano (#7) in Sao Paulo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
