Regular Season Round 25: Atenas - Quimsa 70-76
Date: February 8, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Atenas (7-15) lost to first ranked Quimsa (16-5) in Cordoba 70-76 on Tuesday. International point guard Franco Baralle (185-99) nailed 22 points and 4 assists for the winning side and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. American guard Latraius Mosley (198-90, college: Life) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Deion McClenton (208, college: Keiser) added 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Atenas in the defeat. Atenas' coach Sebastian Saborido rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to second position due to points difference. Atenas lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with La Union. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play against Comunicaciones (#19) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
