Very expected game when 13th ranked Urunday (4-13) lost on the road to third ranked Urupan (13-5) 104-97 on Thursday. Urupan outrebounded Urunday 42-30 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Mateo Sarni (185-98) supported him with 18 points and 10 assists. Five Urupan players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds by American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: GMU, agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Urunday. His fellow American import JC Fuller (194-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Slash Sports) added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Newly promoted Urupan maintains third position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Goes. Urunday lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Urupan will meet Penarol (#5) in the next round. Urunday's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Aguada.
