Regular Season Round 23: Obras - Penarol 79-90

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Penarol (10-13) beat higher ranked Obras (12-8) in Buenos Aires 90-79 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Tomas Framinan (177-3) who led the winners and scored 27 points. Forward Tomas Cattaneo (198-1) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Chilean point guard Felipe Inyaco (192-2) came up with 42 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Franco Palacios (-3) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Obras in the defeat. Obras' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Penarol moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Obras dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Penarol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play against Platense (#19) in Florida and hope to secure a win.
