Very expected game when 11th ranked Riachuelo LR (11-12) was smashed by fifth ranked Instituto (17-8) in Cordoba 117-96 on Saturday. Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Riachuelo LR's players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Juan Frontera (178-2) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Juan Tulian (196-0) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. Instituto's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Mateo Corso (185-4) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Lautaro Velasquez (200-2) added 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Riachuelo LR in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Instituto maintains fifth place with 17-8 record. Riachuelo LR lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Instituto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Riachuelo LR will play against the league's leader Comunicaciones (#1) and hope to secure a win.
