Regular Season Round 23: H.Americano - Ferro 83-86

Twentieth-ranked H.Americano (1-20) used its home court advantage to challenge ninth ranked Ferro (13-12) in Rio Gallegos on Saturday. The visitors from Buenos Aires managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Ferro made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 H.Americano turnovers. Strangely H.Americano outrebounded Ferro 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Felipe Rodriguez (195-3) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 steals. Guard Santiago Mazza (182-1) accounted for 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Forward Damian Fernandez (194-2) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Braulio Soules (185-3) added 26 points respectively for H.Americano in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ferro. They moved-up to seventh place. H.Americano lost their fourteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Ferro will meet at home Argentino (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. H.Americano will have a break next round.
