There was no surprise in Almagro where 10th ranked San Lorenzo (11-10) was edged by third ranked Penarol (17-7) 76-73 on Monday. Penarol dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to San Lorenzo's 26. The best player for the winners was naturalized American power forward Phillip Lockett (202-1988) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. The former international forward Matias Sandes (202-1984) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Leandro Cerminato (201-1998) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Penarol keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gimnasia. Defending champion San Lorenzo dropped to the twelfth place with ten games lost.
