Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Bigua (#2) and Olimpia (#7). Bigua (15-3) won against visiting Olimpia (9-10) 92-85. The best player for the winners was American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 20 points. Bigua's coach Diego Cal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Brandon Nazione (202-1994, college: EMU, agency: Players Group) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Argentinian center Ivan Basualdo (203-1990) added 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bigua have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 15-3 record having just three points less than leader Goes. Olimpia lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Bigua's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Trouville.
