Tenth-ranked Atenas (11-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Comunicaciones (22-2) in Cordoba on Monday. The visitors from Mercedes managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Matias Nunez (191-1999) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Lucas Mercadino (204-2003) who added 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Franco Riffle (195-2003) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Ignacio Segura (195-2000) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Comunicaciones have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-2 record. Atenas at the other side keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Comunicaciones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenas will play at home against the league's second-placed San Martin (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
