No shocking result in a game in Santiago del Estero where ninth ranked Quimsa (13-9) outleveled 18th ranked Gimnasia CR (4-21) 90-64 on Wednesday. Quimsa dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR's 22. The best player for the winners was guard Francisco Corradi (187-2003) who scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Lucio Longoni (205-2001) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Quimsa's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2002) who recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Franco Ferraria (191-2002) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Quimsa have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Obras. Gimnasia CR lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth position with 21 games lost. Quimsa will meet at home Riachuelo LR (#11) in the next round. Gimnasia CR will play against San Lorenzo (#17) in Almagra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
