Regular Season Round 27: Pato Basquete - Brasilia 77-75
Date: February 17, 2022
Very predictable result in Pato Branco where eleventh ranked Pato (9-14) edged bottom-ranked Brasilia (4-18) 77-75 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pato forced 19 Brasilia turnovers. Strangely Brasilia outrebounded Pato 35-22 including 23 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Argentinian Mateo Bolivar (187-1992) who scored 22 points. Victor Leal (203-1996) chipped in 8 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Argentinian guard Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) who recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Joao Demetrio (208-1995) added 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pato maintains eleventh place with 9-14 record. Loser Brasilia stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Pato will meet at home Cerrado (#15) in the next round. Brasilia will play against Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
