Regular Season Round 28: Boca - Riachuelo LR 70-71

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Riachuelo LR (13-14) edged higher ranked Boca (16-10) in Buenos Aires 71-70 on Tuesday. The winners were led by American guard Gary Ricks (185-1991, college: Drake) who scored that evening 31 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Martin Leiva (211-1980) supported him with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Boca. The former international Leonel Schattmann (193-1987) added 19 points and 6 assists for lost side. Boca's coach Gonzalo Garcia let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Riachuelo LR maintains twelfth position with 13-14 record. Boca at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Riachuelo LR will meet at home league's leader Quimsa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Boca will play against H.Americano (#20) in Rio Gallegos and hope to secure a win.
