Regular Season Round 28: Quimsa - Regatas 87-70
Date: March 4, 2022
Everything went according to plan when first ranked Quimsa (20-5) defeated 8th ranked Regatas (15-11) in Santiado del Estero 87-70 on Friday. Quimsa forced 20 Regatas turnovers. The winners were led by American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) supported him with 14 points. Quimsa's coach Sebastian Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by the former international forward Facundo Pinero (202-1988) did not help to save the game for Regatas. Guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) added 16 points for lost side. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. Quimsa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-5 record. Loser Regatas keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Quimsa will meet Riachuelo LR (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Regatas will play against La Union (#17) and hope to secure a win.
