Regular Season Round 29: Obera - Atenas 80-70

Very expected game when 17th ranked Atenas (8-18) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Obera (16-11) 80-70 on Monday. Strangely Atenas outrebounded Obera 50-38 including 39 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Samuel Givens (197-1989, college: Drexel) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) chipped in 18 points. Guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) produced 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and center Deion McClenton (208, college: Keiser) added 12 points and 16 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obera have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Atenas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighteenth position with 18 games lost. Obera will meet at home higher ranked San Martin (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atenas will play against Union SF (#17) in Santa Fe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
