There was an upset in Buenos Aires where higher ranked Ferro (17-12) was edged by tenth ranked Olimpico (15-12) 80-78 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was international Leonardo Lema (204-1998) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Venezuelan swingman Pedro Chourio (186-1990, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Olimpico players scored in double figures. Uruguayan center Theo Metzger (200-1999) produced 18 points and point guard Rodrigo Gallegos (186-1991) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Olimpico. They moved-up to ninth place. Loser Ferro dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Olimpico will meet league's second-placed Gimnasia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ferro will play against San Lorenzo (#13) in Almagro and hope to secure a win.
