The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Goes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Goes defeated 3rd placed Urupan in Montevideo 95-89. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Urupan. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Martin Osimani (194-1981, college: Duquesne, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 22 points and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Urupan will play next round against strong Aguada trying to get back on the winning streak. Goes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
