Regular Season Round 4: Brujos - Santa Tecla 82-90

An interesting game for Santa Tecla (3-1) which played road game in Izalco against one of their biggest challengers Brujos (3-1). Second ranked Santa Tecla managed to get a 8-point victory 90-82. Santa Tecla forced 22 Brujos turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and American center Raymond Miller (204-1988, college: CS Fullerton) who added 14 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) responded with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and center Teodoro Romero (202-1985) produced a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 25 rebounds and 10 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader Metapan, which they share with defeated Brujos. Santa Tecla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brujos will play on the road against the league's leader Metapan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
