There was no surprise when 11th ranked Santa Ana (1-4) was crushed on the road by second ranked San Salvador (4-1) 97-77. San Salvador players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Dominican forward Cristian Joan Duran (201-1996, college: Tenn Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 27 rebounds and 6 assists. Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) contributed with 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Irving Sandoval (180-1988) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Santa Ana. Santa Ana's coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. San Salvador have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Metapan, which they share with Santa Tecla. Santa Ana at the other side stay at the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with Chalchuapa. San Salvador will play against Santiagueno (#5) in the next round.
