There was no surprise in Corrientes where 12th ranked Ferro (14-19) was defeated by second ranked San Martin (27-7) 83-77 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Franco Mendez (188-2002) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was swingman Felipe Rodriguez (195-2003) with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Camilo Rodriguez (187-2006) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for San Martin. They maintain second place with 27-7 record having just one point less than leader Comunicaciones. Ferro lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. San Martin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro will play against La Union (#10) in Formosa and hope to secure a win.
