Regular Season Round 7: Brujos - Aguila 110-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Aguila's (2-4) road loss to fourth ranked Brujos (4-2) in Izalco 83-110. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Aguila's 38. Brujos forced 19 Aguila turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Brujos brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Maxwel Mendoza helped adding 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Bryan Garcia (168-1997) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and naturalized Canadian Jose Araujo (187-1986, college: UNBC, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brujos maintains fourth place with 4-2 record. Aguila at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Santiagueno. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
