An interesting game for Mieleras (10-0) which hosted in Guanajuato their biggest opponent Las Plebes (3-5). Top-ranked Mieleras had an easy win 109-63. Mieleras dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Las Plebes' 30 and made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Mieleras forced 25 Las Plebes turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Mieleras especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Las Plebes' players. American forward Destiny Campbell (185, college: ECU) notched 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Mayra Gil (-2003) supported her with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Mieleras players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 6 rebounds by American swingman Jessica Fairweather (178-1989, college: Queens, NY) did not help to save the game for Las Plebes. Her fellow American import forward Danielle Forrest-Higgins (178, college: Morgan St.) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mieleras have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Las Plebes at the other side keep the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Atleticas and Lenadoras. Mieleras will meet Escaramuzas (#4) in the next round. Las Plebes will play against the league's leader Mexcaltecas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
