Regular Season Round 10: Teporacas - Racers 89-55

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Racers' (0-8) road loss to fifth ranked Teporacas (6-4) 55-89 on Sunday. Teporacas outrebounded Racers 37-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Racers' players. The former international swingman Daniela Soto (177-1995) notched 25 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Colombian guard Maria Delgado (173-1996, college: Angelo St.) supported her with 16 points. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Takoia Larry (180-1991, college: TxWes) did not help to save the game for Racers. Mitzi Lopez added 10 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Teporacas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 6-4 record. Newly promoted Racers still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with Barreteras. Teporacas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Racers will play against Lobas (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
