Regular Season Round 30: Nacional - Urupan 86-73

There was an upset in Montevideo where higher ranked Urupan (16-9) was defeated by tenth ranked Nacional (11-14) 86-73 on Monday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nacional made 10 blocks. Central African-American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-1988, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and American Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Nacional players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Sebastian Ottonello (195-1997) with 26 points and 8 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Mateo Sarni (185-1998) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nacional moved-up to ninth place. Urupan lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Aguada and Penarol. Nacional's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Penarol.
