The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Quimsa (25-8) in Junin on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by eighteenth ranked Argentino (12-21) 87-84. Argentino outrebounded Quimsa 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!). American-Panamanian point guard CJ Rodriguez (188-1994, college: S.Nazarene) helped adding 18 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and international point guard Franco Baralle (185-1999) scored 18 points. Quimsa's coach Sebastian Gonzalez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Argentino moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Atenas. Quimsa at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Argentino is looking forward to face higher ranked Obras (#14) in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play at home against Atenas (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
