Very predictable result when second ranked Puerto Varas (13-5) smashed at home 10th ranked Universidad Catolica (4-11) 95-63 on Saturday. Puerto Varas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Universidad Catolica's 38. They outrebounded Universidad Catolica 46-25 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panamanian forward Pablo Rivas (198-1994, college: NCCU) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Franco Morales (179-1992) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Rivas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Puerto Varas players scored in double figures.
