Regular Season Round 1: Obregon - Los Mochis 78-86

There was a minor upset when Halcones de Ciudad Obregon lost at home to Pioneros Los Mochis 86-78 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Wayne Runnels (198-1989, college: Creighton) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Decensae White (198-1988, college: SF State) accounted for 26 points and 7 rebounds. White is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach Guillermo Vecchio used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Germain Jordan (198-1986, college: Dillard) added 18 points respectively for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis will meet at home Ostioneros de Guaymas in the next round. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and hope to win that game.
