Regular Season Round 12: Santiagueno - Nejapa 95-80
Date: April 4, 2022
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Nejapa (2-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Santiagueno (3-6) 95-80. Santiagueno forced 21 Nejapa turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 29 rebounds. Cuban guard Pedro Roque (187-1995) contributed with 29 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American Marcus Faison (196-1994, college: Salem St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 24 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Telvin Gabriel (198-1994, college: Lander) added 25 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Nejapa.
