Regular Season Round 14: Brujos - Santa Ana 107-77

Not a big story in a game in Izalco where 6th ranked Santa Ana (5-6) was rolled over by fourth ranked Brujos (7-4) 107-77. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 34. They outrebounded Santa Ana 58-46 including 44 on the defensive glass. Brujos players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 16 blocks. Dominican forward Xavier de la Rosa (196-1991) notched a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and center Teodoro Romero (202-1985) supported him with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 5 rebounds by Irving Sandoval (180-1988) did not help to save the game for Santa Ana. American swingman Dartavious Young (201-1995, college: Everett CC) added 17 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brujos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-4 record. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Brujos will play against bottom-ranked Cojute (#11) in Cojutepeque in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Santa Ana will play at home against Fantasmas (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
