Regular Season Round 14: Atleticas - Racers 82-73

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked Racers (0-12) and sixth ranked Atleticas (6-6) on Sunday night. Racers unexpectedly were defeated by on the road 73-82. Atleticas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Racers' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Paola Estrada (172-1993, agency: DC Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Monica Delgado contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Takoia Larry (180-1991, college: TxWes) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Argentinian guard Julieta Tell (172-1993) added 15 points in the effort for Racers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atleticas maintains sixth position with 6-6 record. Newly promoted Racers still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Atleticas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Lenadoras in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Racers will have a break next round.
