Eighteenth-ranked Union SF (13-23) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Regatas (22-15) in Santa Fe. The visitors from Corrientes managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union SF. Regatas made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. American center Gary McGhee (210-1988, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Marco Giordano (183-2000) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Gaston Bertona (176-2001) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Regatas. They moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Union SF keeps the eighteenth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Argentino. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
