Regular Season Round 38: UniFacisa - Brasilia 72-90
Date: April 13, 2022
Bottom-ranked Brasilia managed to get the second consecutive victory on Wednesday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked UNIFACISA in Paraiba 90-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference proves that Brasilia was well-prepared to that game. Brasilia had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 65.4 percentage. Brasilia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (183-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American-Argentinian guard Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-1993, college: Dartmouth) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Guilherme Hubner (209-1987) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brasilia maintains seventeenth position with 7-23 record. UNIFACISA lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Brasilia are looking forward to face higher ranked Fortaleza (#15) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UNIFACISA will play against Cerrado (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
