There was no surprise when 9th ranked Rio Claro (13-17) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Sao Paulo (23-8) 96-69 on Wednesday. Sao Paulo shot 62.5 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Cordero Bennett (185-1988) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Henrique Coelho (184-1993) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. Point guard Cassiano Bueno (187-1997) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and center Lucao Moraes (211-1994) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds.
