Grises used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from San German 93-82 on Sunday night. Grises dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticos' 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) who scored 19 points and 8 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands forward DeQuon Lake (208-1997, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) who recorded 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American Onzie Branch (201-1991, college: Gardner-Webb) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Grises will meet Gigantes (#6) in the next round. Atleticos will play against Piratas and hope to win that game.
