Regular Season Round 40: Obera - Comunicaciones 112-79
Date: April 18, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Comunicaciones (14-23) was outscored on the road by ninth ranked Obera (21-16) 112-79 on Monday. Obera dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Comunicaciones' 46. They outrebounded Comunicaciones 44-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Obera looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The winners were led by the former international point guard Nicolas De los Santos (180-1988) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 assists and Facundo Giorgi (203-1985, college: FIU) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Obera players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 6 assists by American swingman Trahson Burrell (201-1992, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Comunicaciones. Forward Alejandro Diez (201-1987) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Obera have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 21-16 record. Comunicaciones at the other side keeps the sixteenth place with 23 games lost.
