Regular Season Round 18: Cojute - Santa Tecla 92-100

There was no surprise in Cojutepeque where 10th ranked Cojute (3-12) was defeated by second ranked Santa Tecla (13-2) 100-92. It was a good game for Dominican guard Jose Liriano (189-1998) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) contributed with 28 points for the winners. Santa Tecla's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jordon Myers (201-1998) added 31 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cojute. Santa Tecla have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-2 record having just one point less than leader San Salvador. Cojute at the other side keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Santa Tecla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cojute will play on the road against Santa Ana (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
