The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Leones as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Leones defeated bottom-ranked Indios in Juana Diaz 89-82. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Jordan Murphy (200-1997, college: Minnesota) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Leones' coach Wilhelmus Caanen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Terrence Jones (206-1992, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Five Leones and four Indios players scored in double figures. Leones (6-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Quebradillas. Indios at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Indios will play next round against strong Piratas trying to get back on the winning streak. Leones will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Atleticos in San German.
