Regular Season Round 15: Las Plebes - Phoenix 101-44

Top ranked Phoenix (3-7) recorded its seventh loss on the court of first ranked Las Plebes on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Las Plebes 101-44. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix's 24. Las Plebes forced 19 Phoenix turnovers and outrebounded them 48-29 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Phoenix's players. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jessica Fairweather (178-1989, college: Queens, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import forward Danielle Forrest-Higgins (178, college: Morgan St.) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals. Four Las Plebes players scored in double figures. Las Plebes' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Thalia Perez who recorded 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Arleth Ortega added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Despite that victory Las Plebes went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Phoenix lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with seven games lost. Las Plebes are again looking forward to face league's leader Phoenix in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Phoenix will have a break next round.
