Regular Season Round 9: Los Mochis - Obregon 91-90

The most exciting game of round 9 in the CIBACOPA took place in Los Mochis. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (9-8) to second ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (11-6) 91-90 on Tuesday evening. Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach Guillermo Vecchio used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Germain Jordan (198-1986, college: Dillard) added 15 points in the effort for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon. Four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis maintains second place with 11-6 record having just three points less than leader Astros, which they share with Hermosillo. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis is looking forward to face Rayos de Hermosillo (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against the league's leader Astros in Guadalajara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
