The game between fourth ranked Aguila (13-5) and 9th ranked Cojute (4-15) in San Miguel ended with biggest points difference. Aguila outscored guests from Cojutepeque 98-66. Aguila players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cojute's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 16 blocks. Guard Bryan Garcia (168-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and American Darryl Palmer (198-1994, college: SC State) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Aguila players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and point guard Ronald Melendez (178-1984) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Aguila. They maintain fourth place with 13-5 record. Cojute lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Chalchuapa. Aguila will play against Chalchuapa (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cojute will play against the league's second-placed Metapan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
