There was an upset in Mayaguez where much higher ranked Cariduros (5-5) were defeated by sixth ranked Indios (4-8) 72-68 on Saturday. American forward Jordan Cintron (203-1998, college: Niagara) scored 9 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-1985, college: Miami, FL) responded with 28 points and international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Cariduros' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Indios moved-up to fifth place. Cariduros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Indios will meet higher ranked Capitanes (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cariduros will play against Grises in Humacao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
