Rather predictable result in Guadalajara where first ranked Astros (14-6) defeated 3rd ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (11-9) 81-76 on Saturday. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lagerald Vick (196-1997, college: Kansas) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Astros maintains first position with 14-6 record. Loser Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Astros will meet Venados (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Tijuana Zonkeys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
