An interesting game for Mariscal E. (2-0) which played road game in Asuncion against 4th ranked Campo Alto (0-3). Top-ranked Mariscal E. managed to get a 4-point victory 69-65. Mariscal E. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Campo Alto's 28. They outrebounded Campo Alto 46-31 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Victor Ramires who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and Eduardo Ramos who added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian Nelson Peralta (195-1992) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Oscar Laconich (184-1986) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mariscal E. maintains first position with 2-0 record, which they share with Olimpia K. Campo Alto at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Mariscal E. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
