Very important is a road loss of third ranked Cangrejeros (6-7) against sixth ranked Gigantes (2-7) on Tuesday night. Visiting Cangrejeros were crushed by Gigantes in Carolina 105-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cangrejeros. It was a great evening for Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Sheldon McClellan (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 30 points and 5 rebounds. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Haitian forward Skal Labissiere (211-1996, college: Kentucky) scored 18 points. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gigantes maintains sixth place with 2-7 record. Cangrejeros at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. Gigantes will again play against higher ranked Cangrejeros (#3) in Santurce in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cangrejeros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Leones in Juana Diaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
