Very important is a home loss of third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (14-8) against fifth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (11-11) on Tuesday night. Host Rayos de Hermosillo was crushed by Ostioneros de Guaymas in Hermosillo 90-69. It was a great evening for American Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Nigerian-American center Jawachi Nzeakor (206-1997, college: Lamar) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach John Welch felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Jordan Session (203-1996, college: Georgia St.) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Ostioneros de Guaymas maintains fifth place with 11-11 record. Defending champion Rayos de Hermosillo dropped to the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Los Mochis. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet league's leader Astros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Tijuana Zonkeys and hope to secure a win.
