Regular Season Round 9: Team Cali - Tigrillos 72-73

The most exciting game of round 9 in the LPB took place in Cali. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Team Cali (4-5) to seventh ranked Tigrillos (1-9) 73-72 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Team Cali. The best player for the winners was forward Andres Carmona (195-1997) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Santiago Serna (203-2001) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tigrillos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard John Merchant (187-1989, college: Dowling) who recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and international forward Leyder Moreno (195-2000) added 9 points respectively. Team Cali's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigrillos maintains seventh place with 1-9 record. Team Cali at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Corsarios.
