The game between closely ranked teams ended with Juventud's (0-3) road loss to Lagomar (2-1) 51-93 on Saturday. Lagomar dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Juventud's 22. Lagomar forced 44 Juventud turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Sabrina Schiaffarino (167-1980) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Lagomar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Karina Acosta (-1986) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and guard Cynthia Diaz (158-1994) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lagomar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Urunday.
